What are the key messages you would like to send: My dad is my rock. Any problems I have I talk through with him. He is my aurical. Any questions I have, he always knows the answer. I have learn't so much from him. He is my friend. Any good news I have I share with him. He is, and always has been there for me. Even though my parents divorced when I was very young, and I have a wonderful mum, my dad and I remain close - through good and bad times.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: On my wedding day, my dad gave such a wonderful speech. He had obviously put so much thought into it's content and presented it beautifully. He has always shown his love for me with lots of hugs, but he has never expressed his feelings in words. To hear how proud he is of me made me and other people at my wedding cry.
My husband and I are extremely close, best friends, soul mates. A couple of years ago my husband went through a bad time. The worst of times. I do not know how I would have coped, how we would have coped, were it not for my dad. He supported us both through "our worst time". The experience has scared me, but my scars would have been so much deeper had it not have been for my dad's support and love. My husband, Allan and I will remain forever grateful.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts : I would like to take this opportunity to let my dad know how much I love him and that he will always be a big part of my life and that our special father-daughter bond will never weaken.
| Saying "I love you" is not always easy, it's seems there's not always a suitable time, but on the occasion of your 60th birthday, Dad, I think we could use a little rhyme. You see, you are my rock, my hero, and you always give me an ear that understands any problems I have I can always talk to you, and you know, life doesn't always go as you've planned. You are my oracle, my google, my library, any questions I have, you know the answer (and more), and Dad, I just wanted to say thank you, I love you, I guess that's really what these words are for. I have learnt so much from you in my life, and I'd like to thank you for every lesson that you've taught, because you've always been there for me, and I know, I wouldn't have made it without your support. Any good news I have I always share with you, so here's some more, you're not just my Dad, you're my friend, and even though you divorced when I was very young, our story has very much a happy and joyful end. And we've remained close throughout the years, through the good times, and certainly through the bad, and you said it all in that wonderful, moving speech, on my wedding day, I was very proud of my Dad. But to be honest, I'm proud of you every single day, and as you know, Allan and I are best friends, we're soul-mates, but a couple of years ago we went through a bad time, we just couldn't tame and master those cruel winds of fates. Truly, this was our very "worst of times", but that's when your love really shone so bright, and I, we, wouldn't have coped without you, when there was only dark, you were the light. And honestly, that experience has scared me, but thanks to you, I won't be forever scarred, and I know that Allan and I will be forever grateful, because those times were really tough, very hard. But your love and support got us through, and you waved away the devil with a swish of your wand, so just know that I love you very much, you're a big part of me, and no one will ever break our special father-daughter bond. I'm very proud of the person that I've become, and that bond makes up a big part of who I am today, so Dad, just know that I love you, very, very much, and now, apart from "Happy 60th", I have nothing left to say. |
