What are the key messages you would like to send: I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT HE IS A GREAT MAN WHO IS LOVED VERY MUCH BY HIS FAMILY (WHICH INCLUDES HIS SON BRAD, HIS DAUGHTER KELLY, HIS DAUGHTER-IN-LAW LIZ AND HIS GRANDCHILDREN BRITTNEY AND BRYCE). HE WAS IN THE RECORD BUSINESS FOR 20 YEARS WITH A NICKNAME OF "BOXCAR BARRY". HE THEN HAD A BRIEF PERIOD OF NOTHINGNESS AND OUR FAMILY OWNS 3 "TIM HORTONS" (COFFEE AND DONUT BUSINESS) FOR 8 YEARS. WE OWN THREE STORES IN BOLTON, ONTARIO, CANADA. HE IS A VERY STRONG MAN AND FULL OF GREAT HEART. HE IS CARING AND KIND AND EXTREMELY GENEROUS TO A FAULT. HE HAS MANY DEAR FRIENDS AND IS LOVED BY ALL HE ENCOUNTERS. FAMILY IS EVERYTHING TO HIM THOUGH!! TALK ABOUT KELLY WHO WAS A COMPETITIVE SWIMMER AND HE CHEERED ME ON AS HE WALKED UP AND DOWN THE EDGE OF THE POOL IN LONDON, ONTARIO, CANADA SHOUTING "PULL KELLY PULL". MY BROTHER BRAD IS A CHEF AND WENT TO THE 1988 CULINARY OLYMPICS IN GERMANY AND WON GOLD FOR CANADA. MY MOM (BETH) IS THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE AND THEY HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 42 YEARS. THEY LAUGH AND REMAIN STRONG FOR EACHOTHER DAY IN AND DAY OUT. THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS

Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: I WOULD LIKE TO TALK ABOUT HIS EARLY YEARS IN THE RECORDS BUSINESS WHERE HE WORKED FOR CAPITOL RECORDS AND THEN QUALITY RECORDS. AS SAID, HE WAS KNOWN AS "BOXCAR BARRY" WHERE IS DID EXTREMELY WELL AS A SALES REP. HE MET HIS VERY CLOSE FRIEND GARRY NEWMAN IN THE RECORD BUSINESS AND THEY HAVE KNOWN EACHOTHER FOR 25 YEARS. HIS BEST FRIENDS NAME IS LARRY MARIANI WHOM HE HAS KNOWN FOR 30 YEARS. I WANT TO TALK ABOUT HOW GOOD OF A PERSON HE IS AND HOW MUCH HE MEANS TO US ALL AND HOW MUCH HIS FAMILY MEANS TO HIM. HIS FAMILY INCLUDES HIS WIFE BETH (MARRIED FOR 42 YEARS), HIS DAUGHTER KELLY, HIS SON BRAD, HIS DAUGHTER-IN-LAW LIZ, HIS GRANDDAUGHTER BRITTNEY AND HIS GRANDSON BRYCE. LASTLY, A BIG PART OF OUR FAMILY LIFE IS OUR FAMILY BUSINESS. WE ARE FRANCHISES FOR A COMPANY CALLED THE TDL GROUP LTD. IN WHERE WE OWN 3 "TIM HORTONS" (COFFEE AND DONUT STORES) WHICH ARE VERY POPULAR AND EXPENSIVE HERE IN CANADA. WE SELL THINGS LIKE COFFEE, CAPPUCCINO, DONUTS (APPLE FRITTERS, DUTCHIES, BOSTON CREAM, CHOCOLATE GLAZED ETC.). MY DAD IS VERY POPULAR AT HEAD OFFICE AND IS WELL RESPECTED IN THE CHAIN WHICH INCLUDES OVER 3000 STORES IN NORTH AMERICA. THIS IS A BIG PART OF OUR LIFE AS THE FAMILY WORKS TOGETHER 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK AND 365 DAYS A YEAR

Do you have any other comments or thoughts : PLEASE MAKE THE POEM VERY SPECIAL AND IT IS TO BE FROM ALL OF US AS A FAMILY ABOUT MY DAD AND HOW WE FEEL. Boxcar Barry, Our Dad
| Hello, our wonderful father, these words are just for you, because we're proud of who you are, and we're very proud of what you do. And we just wanted to say "we love you", but in truth, we didn't know where to start, so we thought we'd share a few feelings, and give you some words, straight from the heart. Firstly, we'd like to begin by looking skywards, and thanking those in the heavens above, because we know we've been blessed to have shared you, we know that we've been blessed with your love. We all think that you are a truly great man, and my! Look at how your mighty tree has grown, because Kelly, Brad, Liz, Brittney and Bryce all say "thanks", we're very grateful for the love that you've shown. You were in the record business for 20 years, and Boxcar Barry, you've always been our number one hit, but you've always had such a "joie de vie", your motto is: "This is life, let's be in it". You started out in the Capitol, then went to Quality, and "Barry" met Garry and Larry along that way, and you've been firm and best friends ever since, and I know that's the way it will always stay. Then it was records, to nothingness, to coffee and donuts, but you've always been extremely generous, so very kind, you have many dear friends and you're loved by all, it seems like "you" is the very last thing on your mind. Although it's obvious that family is everything to you, and you could never say that your life has been dull, and you've cheered Kelly on so many, many times, and trust me, I'll never forget the words: "Pull, Kelly, PULL". And with your support, Brad too won gold for Canada, and we've all sampled his many culinary delights, but just for a moment, let's talk about Mom, as you two make one of the world's most wonderful sights. For 42 years, you've lived and loved together, you still laugh and remain the very best of friends, you're strong for each other, day in and day out, and that's the way you'll stay, long after this journey ends. And we've shared so many wonderful dunkin' moments, in truth, there's just too many to individually list, just know that each and every one is precious, there's not one that we would have missed. Dad, you're such a good, magical, fantastic person, in truth, we've never said just how wonderful you are, but if our love for you were a distance, then it would be further than the furthest star. We also wanted to say: "Happy 65th Birthday", but that's not really what these words are for, because here's to you, Dad, you're truly wonderful, and here's to our everlasting love, for evermore. |
